Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ashland). They blew past the Norton Lancers 12-0 on Monday. The Clockers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 10, 2024 (when they won 14-0).
Chris Bratica was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Ashland is 4-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-6 otherwise. Bratica was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Oliver Lareau was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Ashland's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7. As for Norton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
