Basketball Recap: Aberdeen Falls Despite Big Games from Ryker Scott and Jhacob Quezada

Aberdeen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forks Spartans. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in December of 2019.

Jhacob Quezada and Ryker Scott certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Quezada posted 20 points, while Scott dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Those 13 points gave Scott a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaac Garcia, who had eight points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Aberdeen's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Forks, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aberdeen will take on Hoquiam at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Hoquiam has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Forks, they will face off against Elma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Elma will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Forks surely won't give up without a fight.
