Mead has gone 6-1 against Lewis-Palmer recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Mavericks will challenge the Rangers at 1:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mead is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 67-7 victory over Niwot. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mavericks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Cougars are ranked 123rd).

Noah Chapala continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 154 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Joe Klatt was another key player, throwing for 156 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes.
Mead didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Niwot to a completion percentage of just 46.2%. The team can thank Cooper Modrzejewski for the heroic effort on defense: he. Mead has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.6 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.6 in their last three games.
Meanwhile, after only ten points in their last game, Lewis-Palmer made sure to put some points up on the board against Pueblo Centennial on Friday. The Rangers breezed past the Bulldogs to the tune of 70-12. The Rangers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Lewis-Palmer's win came from a few key players Mead will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Wyatt Hamer, who rushed for 85 yards and a pair of scores. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 52 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tymon Tsiakilos, who rushed for 76 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Lewis-Palmer, adding 16 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Greg Moore, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Mead's record is now 8-2. As for Lewis-Palmer, their record now sits at 6-4.
Saturday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Mead has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 222.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lewis-Palmer struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 267.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Mead against Lewis-Palmer in their previous matchup back in September, as the team secured a 50-9 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Moore, who rushed for 107 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Mavericks still be able to contain Moore? There's only one way to find out.
