The Fossil Ridge Sabercats had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took a serious blow against Fairview, falling 55-28. Fossil Ridge has struggled against Fairview recently, as their match on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Sabercats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Toshcoff, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Nick Kubat, who threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns.
Fairview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bekkem Kritza, who threw for 358 yards and five touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jace Hines was another key contributor, picking up 198 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Fairview's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Ryder Villarreal and his two sacks.
Fossil Ridge's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.7 points per game. As for Fairview, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
