Trimble County is 8-2 against Walton-Verona since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Raiders will be playing at home against the Bearcats  at 12:00  p.m. The timing is sure in Trimble County's favor as the  team sits on three straight wins at home while Walton-Verona has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Trimble County came into their game  on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost  11-5 to Spencer County.
 Hannah Chilton was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she  tossed 3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Savannah Oldson was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles.  Alanna Washington was another key player,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  stolen base and two  RBI.
Henry County hit Walton-Verona with a seven-run third inning  on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bearcats came up short against  the Wildcats, falling  13-3.
  Ava Donato and  Reagan Smith did some serious damage despite the final result:  Donato  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs, while  Smith  went 3-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Rylan Edwards, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 Trimble County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Walton-Verona, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.
Walton-Verona's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Trimble County has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 10.5  hits per game. It's a different story for Walton-Verona, though, as  they've been averaging 11.4  hits. Given Trimble County's sizable advantage in that area, the Bearcats will need to find a way to close that gap.
 Trimble County skirted past Walton-Verona  8-7 in their previous matchup  on April 1st. Do  the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bearcats turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
