The Madison Dragons lost against the Tekamah-Herman Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Madison ended up on the wrong side of a rough 58-37 walloping at the hands of the Tigers. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Madison in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the defeat, Madison saw an underclassman step up: Salena Duinkerken scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 37.8% of Madison's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Wedy Atanacio was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Madison has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Tekamah-Herman, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
Madison will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Neligh-Oakdale is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Tekamah-Herman is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Tigers on February 6th.
