The Northeastern Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 28 points or more this season. They blew past Hagerstown 67-15 at home. That 67-15 margin sets a new team best for Northeastern this season.
Addisen Mastriano continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Ava Mikesell, who scored five points along with seven assists and seven steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hagerstown struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Northeastern pulled down 18 offensive rebounds.
The victory (which was Northeastern's third in a row) raised their record to 7-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.67 points. As for Hagerstown, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Northeastern will head out on the road to face off against New Castle at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. New Castle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Northeastern is ranked 125th). Hagerstown will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northeastern at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
