Basketball Recap: Kannon Kensing and Mason Beck Secure Win for Blanket

Blanket lost to Rochelle back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Blanket Tigers were the clear victor by a 51-28 margin over the Rochelle Hornets. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Blanket to victory were Mason Beck and Kannon Kensing. Beck dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Kensing dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, Beck is now averaging an impressive 10.5 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Furry, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Blanket is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Rochelle, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Blanket and Santa Anna will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Blanket is facing Santa Anna at the right time seeing as Santa Anna is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Rochelle, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Panther Creek at 11:15 a.m. on December 30th.
