Central extended the longest winning streak in AA this week by beating Longmeadow, 21-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Minnechaug Regional moved up to 75 from 102 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Falcons were able to make the jump by beating Agawam 33-26.
The Brownies' Mike Vecchiarelli and Greg Carelton have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Vecchiarelli has thrown for 750 yards this season, while Carelton has 17 catches for 369 yards. Aaron Owens from Central leads the league in rushing with 299 yards.
A big matchup in AA this week will be when the Golden Eagles take on Northampton/Smith Vo-Tech. Central is in third place, while the Blue Devils are in first place.
East Longmeadow led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Westfield.
