The Memphis East Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 31 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Ridgeway 61-30 at home. Winning may never get old, but Memphis East sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Memphis East found their leader in underclassman McKenzie Register, who scored 15 points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for Register. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey Teague, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Memphis East's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Ridgeway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memphis East will face off against Hutchison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ridgeway, they will head out on the road to face off against Lausanne Collegiate at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Lausanne Collegiate has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
