Softball Recap: Bishop Grimes Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Bishop Grimes's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 21-5 margin over the Hannibal Warriors. The Cobras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.

Ruby Butler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Myla Pankow, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Bishop Grimes' victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-2. As for Hannibal, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Bishop Grimes and Hannibal could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Cobras will challenge Port Byron at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (330 vs. 57). Meanwhile, Hannibal (ranked 543rd) will meet Cato-Meridian (ranked 227th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
