Springstead extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 6 this week by beating Fivay, 34-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Springstead took down the Falcons 34-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Sunlake's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Esteban LeWallen threw for 54 yards and Wanya Lamar had 23 yards receiving. On the ground Nathan Johnson chipped in 158 yards. Ricardo Williams helped Sunlake's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 15 yards.
The Seahawks' dynamic duo of LeWallen and Lamar proved tough for Mitchell to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Williams helped Sunlake's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 15 yards.
Johnson was a passing and rushing force as Sunlake bested the Mustangs. Johnson's key target this week was Lamar, who caught 2 passes for 23 yards.
Land O'Lakes's James Pensyl and Liam Heaney led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-6 quarterback Pensyl has thrown for 1,277 yards this season, while Heaney has 26 catches for 380 yards. Bill Browning's team's Johnson leads the league in rushing yards with 801.
The Seahawks made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,027 from 4,184. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 20-3 victory over Mitchell last week.
