The Chenango Forks Blue Devils pushed their score all the way to 60 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Susquehanna Valley. Chenango Forks was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sabers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Chenango Forks lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Stephen Samsel, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Walker Paske, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Chenango Forks has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Susquehanna Valley, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chenango Forks will square off against the Wolverines at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Waverly knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully the Blue Devils like a good challenge. Susquehanna Valley will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
