Brentwood Christian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against Geneva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brentwood Christian will be strutting in after a win while Geneva will be coming in after a defeat.
Brentwood Christian never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Legacy Prep Christian Academy last Friday. They walked away with a 34-27 win over the Lions.
Brentwood Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Jennings, who rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes. Jennings really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run. Bryson Best was in the mix too, providing Brentwood Christian with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 70 points the game before, Geneva were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a serious blow against Holy Cross, falling 74-7. Geneva's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Brentwood Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Geneva, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-4.
Brentwood Christian came up short against Geneva in their previous matchup back in October, falling 49-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Geneva's Jacob Rosenstiel, who rushed for 169 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns.
