Football Game Preview: Arbor View Aggies vs. Desert Pines Jaguars

The Arbor View Aggies are taking a road trip to face off against the Desert Pines Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Arbor View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Bishop Gorman, who was ranked fourth at the time (Arbor View was ranked ninth). Arbor View took a 33-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Gorman on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Aggies in their matchups with the Gaels: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Arbor View got top-tier performance from Priscilla Garcia, who threw for 248 yards and four touchdowns. That's the most passing yards Garcia has posted since back in December of 2024.

Even if they lost, Arbor View's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Rykiel Untalasco-Heath was especially locked on to Bishop Gorman's QB and sacked her twice. Karah Foss was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles and defending one pass.

Meanwhile, Desert Pines was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 28-18 to Amplus Academy. One positive for the Jaguars, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Arbor View's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Desert Pines, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything came up roses for Arbor View against Desert Pines in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 57-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arbor View since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
