The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Emmanuel Christian in their matchups with Varsity Opponent: they've now lost six in a row.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was AJ Kirtlan, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Kirtlan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander McKnight, who scored 18 points.
Emmanuel Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Varsity Opponent, the last time they lost on the road was back back in October. Having now won seven straight away matches, they've pushed their record up to 110-413-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Emmanuel Christian will take on Harlan Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to face off against Union Christian Day at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
