Meanwhile, Avalon lost to Penelope on the road by a decisive 61-46 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Avalon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1510th, while Penelope is ranked 704th).
Coolidge is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Avalon, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 14 of their last 18 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
