York Country Day stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They breezed by Veritas Academy on the road to the tune of 69-30. Winning may never get old, but York Country Day sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
York Country Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Maus led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six steals. Maus is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah White, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
York Country Day pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Veritas Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
York Country Day will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lancaster County Christian at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully York Country Day focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Monday. As for Veritas Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Christian School of York at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Christian School of York is ranked 767th, while Veritas Academy is ranked 747th).
