Softball Game Preview: Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators vs. Timberland Wolves

The Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators will head out to challenge the Timberland Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lowcountry Leadership's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

Last Friday, Lowcountry Leadership was able to grind out a solid victory over Palmetto Scholars Academy, taking the game 13-10. The NaviGators haven't had any issues with the Phoenix recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lowcountry Leadership let Becky Gaskins and Bailee Blome run wild. Gaskins went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Blome scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Blome a new career-high. Jae'Da Stuckey also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Meanwhile, Timberland sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over Charleston Math & Science last Monday.

Kaylee Waters was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Aleighyia Wright, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Timberland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Lowcountry Leadership's record now sits at 4-2. As for Timberland, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lowcountry Leadership hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like Timberland struggles in that department as they've averaged .427. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
