The Palmer Dragons will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Bruce Trojans at 7:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.
Palmer pushed their score all the way to 55 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 85-55 loss at the hands of Douglass. Palmer was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-18.
While Bruce couldn't quite beat Water Valley on Wednesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 31-point defeat they were dealt two weeks ago. Bruce fell just short of Water Valley by a score of 61-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bruce's defeat came about despite a quality game from Ankavious Glass, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Glass has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Cole Williams, who scored 14 points.
Palmer's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Bruce, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
