After flying high against the Southwood Knights last Saturday, the Northfield Norsemen came back down to earth. Northfield received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 44-30 to Lewis Cass. While losing is never fun, Northfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Lewis Cass is ranked 78th).
Northfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hannah Holmes, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eden Hoover, who scored nine points.
Northfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Lewis Cass, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northfield will challenge Lakeland Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lewis Cass, they will head out on the road to face off against North Miami at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
