Tustin is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Warren is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tustin Tillers will take on the Warren Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Tustin really took it to Cypress for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-17 victory at home. 49 seems to be a good number for Tustin as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tustin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eimesse Essis, who rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Essis is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was MacKenzie Alleyne, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Warren humbled Dominguez with a 50-6 victory. With Warren ahead 30-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Warren's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jordan Ross, who picked up 128 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Madden Iamaleava, who threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes. Iamaleava is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Jordan Jones got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Warren's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was JT Houston and his two sacks.
Their wins bumped Tustin to 10-0 and Warren to 8-2.
