Greensboro Day School's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Lion an 18-0 shutout. The Bengals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Trevor Waters made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Greensboro Day School is 6-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Waters was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Grady, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Braxton, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Greensboro Day School's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-9. As for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 10-9.
