It was a good run, but the Lamar Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Central Arkansas Christian 68-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (62), Lamar still had to take the loss.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ben Noonan, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Noonan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Miller, who scored 21 points along with five assists.
Even though they lost, Lamar were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Central Arkansas Christian, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will take on Atkins at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Arkansas Christian, they will be playing at home against Mayflower at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mayflower will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arkansas Rankings (they are ranked 181st, while Central Arkansas Christian is ranked 38th).
