There's no place like home for the Portland Adventist Academy Cougars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 35-27 victory over Catlin Gabel on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Portland Adventist Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Dane Petersen was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Custer, who scored two points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Portland Adventist Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. As for Catlin Gabel, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
Portland Adventist Academy will head out on the road to face off against Westside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Portland Adventist Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Westside Christian is ranked 14th). As for Catlin Gabel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Horizon Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Catlin Gabel is facing Horizon Christian at the right time seeing as Horizon Christian is stuck on a eight-game losing streak.
