The Lee County Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to challenge the Richmond Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Lee County not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14th (when they won 10-2). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Union Pines a 6-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Yellow Jackets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The result came thanks to Gavin Swann's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lee County let Drew Stanfield and Landon Miles run wild. Stanfield went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Miles went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Stanfield has become a key player for Lee County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 10-12 otherwise.
Lee County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Richmond made easy work of Hoke County on Monday and carried off an 8-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.
Caden Nolan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Hodges, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jabari Douglas, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Lee County now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Richmond, their record is now 15-9.
Lee County suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Richmond in their previous matchup on April 4th. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
