Pace (Fla.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring 10 in the fourth quarter to seal a 27-3 victory over
Washington (Pensacola, Fla.).
After taking the lead on a field goal by
Ryan Santoso in the first quarter, the Patriots led 10-0 at the half.
Pace expanded its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. PHS's lone score in the quarter came on a
Stefon Hayles touchdown run.
Hayles stood out for the Patriots in the win. He ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
When the two teams played each other last season, Pace came away with a 33-7 victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Washington, which notched a 19-17 victory over Choctawhatchee in its previous outing.
In a 6A District 1 game next week Washington (1-3) takes on Escambia, and Pace (4-1) will go up against Pensacola also in a 6A District 1 game.
