Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over Manchester on the road. Given Fort Wayne Bishop Luers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Manchester is ranked 245th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Giovanny Jimenez, who rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Another big playmaker for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers was Daveon Surry, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
The win (which was Fort Wayne Bishop Luers' third in a row) raised their record to 10-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.3 points per game. As for Manchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Fort Wayne Bishop Luers will be playing at home against Bluffton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bluffton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Manchester does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
