The Garner Trojans will face off against the Laney Buccaneers on Friday. Garner is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Garner is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Heritage by a score of 6-3.

Gabriella Czuczuk was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Gaby Mizelle was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Avery Smades was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Laney had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Pride.
The team relied heavily on Carly Krueger, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Carr, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Garner has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Laney, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both Garner and Laney just can't seem to miss. The Trojans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Laney struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Garner skirted past Laney 4-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Buccaneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
