The El Dorado Aztecs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 56-49 to Coronado. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for El Dorado in their matchups with Coronado: they've now lost five in a row.
El Dorado's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cristian Velasquez, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Adrian Rodriguez, who scored 11 points.
Coronado was led to victory by Diego Dalla Pozza and Samuel Farley. Dalla Pozza scored 9 points along with 4 steals, while Farley scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Terrazas, who scored 8 points.
El Dorado's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Coronado, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Americas the next time they take the court. El Dorado will host Americas at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Coronado will head out to face them at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
