Northside - Jacksonville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 41-20 margin over Person. Considering the Monarchs have won five contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Northside - Jacksonville found their leader in freshman ZION JONES, who rushed for 226 yards and two scores. The team also got some help courtesy of REGINALD GRAY, who rushed for 60 yards and three touchdowns.
Northside - Jacksonville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 353 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
One reason for the win was Northside - Jacksonville's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: DANIEL WISNEWSKI, JACKSON DUKE, and JOSEPH GRAHAM, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, St. Pauls waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 46-32 win over the Patriots.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Yoshua McBryde and Joshua Bauman. McBryde had a great game and rushed for 382 yards and five TDs while picking up 20.1 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Bauman did his best for the losing side, rushing for 94 yards and one score, while also picking up 46 receiving yards.
Northside - Jacksonville's record is now 9-2. As for St. Pauls, their record now sits at 10-1.
Northside - Jacksonville was taken down by St. Pauls 51-13 when the teams last played back in September of 2021. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Monarchs were down 36-6.
