Horizon Science Academy's 10-3 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell to Westside Christian Academy 54-49. Horizon Science Academy found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 18 to 11 on offense.
Several Horizon Science Academy players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braylon Myrick, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 44.9% of Horizon Science Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Laval Stevens, who scored six points along with four steals.
Westside Christian Academy was led to victory by Calvin Cottenden and Nate Taylor. Cottenden scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Taylor scored 15 points along with seven assists and four steals. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Reid Guertin was another key contributor, scoring five points along with ten rebounds.
Horizon Science Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Westside Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season.
