Sioux City West is 2-7 against Dakota Valley since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sioux City West Wolverines are on the road again and plays the Dakota Valley Panthers at 7:45 p.m. on February 13th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Sioux City West was able to grind out a solid victory over Spencer, taking the game 63-56.
Meanwhile, Dakota Valley entered their tilt with Dell Rapids with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Dakota Valley strolled past Dell Rapids with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 69-52.
It was another big night for Jaxson Wingert, who scored 29 points along with eight rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Collette, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Sioux City West's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14. As for Dakota Valley, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2.
Sioux City West came up short against Dakota Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 79-69. Thankfully for Sioux City West, Randy Rosenquist (who almost dropped a triple-double on 26 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists) won't be suiting up this time.
