The Russellville Indians pushed their score all the way to 80 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to St. Elizabeth 85-80. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Monday (68), Russellville still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Elizabeth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Green, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Green set a new season high mark in steals with five. The team also got some help courtesy of NIck Heckemeyer, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Russellville and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for St. Elizabeth, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5.
Russellville will finish 2023 at home by hosting Tipton at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. St. Elizabeth will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jamestown at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th.
