Despite the loss, John F. Kennedy Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Gianna Pompelia scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Didi Ryan, who scored ten points along with eight steals.
John F. Kennedy Catholic's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for Canton Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
John F. Kennedy Catholic will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against United at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th. United's defense has only allowed 24.3 points per game this season, so John F. Kennedy Catholic's offense will have their work cut out for John F. Kennedy Catholic. Canton Central Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet Cardinal Mooney at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
