Dwyer dropped down to 11-12 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Jupiter Warriors by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 two weeks ago.
Maddy Lowdermilk was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.
In other batting news, Fatima Masri and Sierra Cook stepped up to the plate in a big way. Masri fired off four doubles and three RBI while going 5-for-6, while Cook went 2-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
As for Jupiter, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games.
Like Dwyer, Jupiter also got a great game from a two-way player: Sasha Seidel. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Seidel was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sawyer Clement and Ainsley Graybeal did most of the damage at the plate: Clement went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Graybeal went 2-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Graybeal has posted since back in March.
Dwyer has already played their next game, an 8-2 win against Seminole Ridge on the 29th. As for Jupiter, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Palm Beach Central on the 27th.
