After a string of three wins, the Lebanon Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were beaten by Plainfield 71-42. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lebanon in their matchups with Plainfield: they've now lost seven in a row.
Lebanon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bryce Jones, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Pollard, who scored eight points.
Lebanon struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Plainfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Collin Schmidt, who scored 19 points. Schmidt hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Harper Baker-lands was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Lebanon's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8. As for Plainfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lebanon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Speedway at 2:30 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Plainfield, they will challenge Terre Haute North Vigo at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Terre Haute North Vigo is on a five-game streak of home wins, Plainfield a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
