Baseball Recap: First Flight Comes Up Short

If First Flight was feeling good fresh off their 16-6 takedown of Northeastern last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The First Flight Nighthawks lost 8-2 to the Bear Grass Charter Bears on Thursday. The Nighthawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2020.

First Flight saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Everest Ouellette, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

First Flight's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Bear Grass Charter, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

First Flight has already played their next match, a 15-6 victory against Northeastern on the 14th. As for Bear Grass Charter, they will welcome Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bear Grass Charter's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Columbia's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
