The Leto Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Armwood Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Leto has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Leto lost 18-6 to Blake on Tuesday.
Jayla Fernandez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Armwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past Middleton 18-1 on Thursday. Considering the Hawks have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Dichelle Walker looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tikema Jackson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Nadia Robinson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Armwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .684. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Armwood's record now sits at 7-11. As for Leto, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Leto has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .508. However, it's not like Armwood struggles in that department as they've averaged .547. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Leto skirted past Armwood 10-9 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
