Breannah Lamere-Alvarado was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Morgan came into Wednesday's matchup having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let Cottonwood get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Wednesday. The Trojans not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 6th (when they won 15-1).
Addyson Cragun made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joesi Kelly, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Gwen Rickard also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Morgan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cottonwood only posted an OBP of .238.
Ben Lomond's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Morgan, the win was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-9.
Morgan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ben Lomond has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. It's a different story for Morgan, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Ben Lomond's hitters?
Ben Lomond suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Morgan in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Scots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
