Leroy has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Bayshore Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Leroy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Leroy ultimately got the result they hoped for. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bayshore Christian and snuck past 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Leroy has posted yet this season.
Leroy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Crumedy led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Crumedy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ray Phillips, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Leroy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season. As for Bayshore Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.
Leroy skirted past Bayshore Christian 45-42 when the teams last played on Saturday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Leroy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
