The Idalia Wolves scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 64-29 win over Lone Star at home. The win was nothing new for Idalia as they're now sitting on five straight.
Jaylyn Kechter was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Krista Wieser, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Despite the loss, Lone Star saw an underclassman step up: Paityn Forry scored ten points.
Idalia is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Lone Star, they dropped their record down to 5-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Idalia won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Eads at 4:00 p.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Eads is ranked 80th, while Idalia is ranked 73rd). As for Lone Star, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arickaree at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arickaree is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
