The Glencoe Tide will venture away from home to square off against the Jesuit Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glencoe will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Glencoe is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oregon's top teams: Mountainside, who was ranked 16th at the time (Glencoe was ranked fifth). The Tide sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Mavericks on Wednesday.
The team relied heavily on Amelia Bouska, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Allison Glaze, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jesuit). They blew past Crater 20-0 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Adalyn Rhyne made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Jesuit got a massive performance out of Selah Greene, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Greene a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Umbdenstock, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Jesuit was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Glencoe's record now sits at 13-1. As for Jesuit, their record is now 6-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Glencoe hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Jesuit struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Glencoe came out on top in a nail-biter against Jesuit in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tide since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
