The Cypress Woods Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell to Cypress Falls 55-50. If Cypress Woods was looking for revenge after losing 47-39 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Cypress Woods' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kosi Igwebuike, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 20 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Luke, who scored 15 points.
Cypress Falls found their leader in underclassman Dazlyn Mcclenon, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Mcclenon hasn't dropped below 11 rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Gisselle Jackson, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Cypress Woods dropped their record down to 11-20 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Cypress Falls, the win got them back to even at 14-14.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cypress Springs the next time they take the court. Cypress Falls will head out to face Cypress Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Cypress Woods will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
