AAA District 14 recap October 1, 2013
Cordova scaled the state rankings by moving to 124 from 158 this week, the biggest jump in AAA District 14. The Wolves were able to move up by defeating Wooddale 31-8.
Arlington took down Raleigh-Egypt 56-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Hunter Sheffield threw for 132 yards and 3 touchdowns during the win.
The Tigers' Sheffield and K.J. Bates have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Sheffield has thrown for 1,111 yards this season, while Bates has 20 catches for 305 yards. Cordova's Charles Taylor leads the league in rushing yards with 615.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Bolton takes on Arlington. The Wildcats are currently in fifth, while Chris Wiley's team is in first.
Anthony Jones, Jr.'s team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,477 from 5,752. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 31-8 victory over the Cardinals last week.
