Dominic Riccardi was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Rhodes entered their tilt with Max S. Hayes on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Lakers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Rams have won nine games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jose Trejo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Trejo was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Roberto Benetiz was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. David Garner was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Rhodes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .533 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Rhodes' victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Brooklyn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brooklyn has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rhodes struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
