Football Recap: Fowler Skates Past Walsenburg with Ease

Fowler never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Walsenburg Panthers 60-0. The result was nothing new for the Grizzlies, who have now won five games by 42 points or more so far this season.

Fowler's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brock True, who rushed for 71 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries, and also threw for seven yards and one touchdown. True also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Grizzlies are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. Another rusher making a difference was Daniel Adams, who rushed for 106 yards and one score.

Fowler didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Hilario Alvarez, Titus Ballard, and Taten Phillips picked up one apiece. Phillips got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win was the fourth in a row for Fowler, bringing their record up to 5-3. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.0 points on average over those games. As for Walsenburg, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
