Softball Recap: Fredericksburg Christian Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fredericksburg Christian waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Christchurch School Seahorses with a sharp 19-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Rylie Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Becca Medina, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Fredericksburg Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Fredericksburg Christian pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Christchurch School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fredericksburg Christian will face off against Oakcrest at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Christchurch School, they will venture away from home to take on Cape Henry Collegiate at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Seahorses' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dolphins have averaged an impressive 11.5 runs per game this season.
