Softball Recap: Garnet Valley Has No Trouble Against Harriton

Garnet Valley won the last time they faced Harriton and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Jaguars blew past the Rams 16-3. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.

Ashlyn Thompson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Zoey Rogers and Alaina Sareyka did most of the damage at the plate: Rogers went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Sareyka went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave Sareyka a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Sharp, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Garnet Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Harriton, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, Garnet Valley will challenge Springfield at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Harriton, they will head out to take on Lower Merion at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
