Timberline is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Centennial is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Timberline fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Eagle on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.

Delaney Wright spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mallorie Casch was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Centennial and Borah, and Centennial kept the tradition alive. The Patriots put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 15-7 win on Tuesday.
Charlize Veldhouse'27 was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Veldhouse'27 was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, Josie Moorhouse and Cali Moorhouse did most of the damage at the plate: Josie fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-4, while Cali fired off two home runs, three runs, and one double while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave Cali a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bailey Simpson ?26, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.
Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Timberline's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Centennial, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-8.
Centennial's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Timberline has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Centennial, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 strikeouts. Will Timberline keep running through batters, or will the Patriots buck the trend?
Timberline came out on top in a nail-biter against Centennial when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
